Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius: Retreat in Daily Life
General Information
- The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius: Retreat in Daily Life is offered by Take, Lord, Receive, a ministry of Enkindling the Heart.
- We are offering the Spiritual Exercises both virtually and in-person. For those who are local (in the Los Angeles area), either in-person or virtual weekly facilitation meetings are offered with in-person faith sharing conferences. For those who are unable to make the in-person faith sharing conferences due to schedule or distance, we are also offering a virtual retreat option (via Zoom).
- Following the submission of your application, you will be contacted to set up a discernment interview focusing on your sense of God's invitation to you to make the Exercises at this particular time in your life, review the time commitment, and answer any questions you might have.
The Commitment
The commitment to the Spiritual Exercises Retreat in Daily Life consists of the following:
- A 1-day Orientation Retreat.
- Daily prayer of about 45 minutes to one hour with specific prayer material,
- 15-20 minutes of journaling each day,
- 10-15 minutes each night for the Examen prayer (a prayerful review of the day),
- 1 hour of weekly, individual retreat direction,
- 2 hours every 1 to 1-1/2 months for a group faith sharing conference gathering,
- A half-day Closing Retreat in June.
In-Person FAITH SHARING CONFERENCE LOCATION
Currently, all in-person Faith Sharing Conferences, including the Orientation and Closing Retreat are to be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro, CA.
